Small red ceramic vase, Iran or Near East,... - Lot 236 - Ader
Small red ceramic vase, Iran or Near East, probably 8th - 10th centuryFine red clay paste, vase with a high truncated conical neck and a small carinated body simply decorated with an engraved circle and resting on a small ring foot. Height : 9 cmCracks , two small holes, traces of burial. The fineness of the paste evokes the so-called "egg-shell" ceramics in vogue in the Umayyad period. Moreover, the special shape of this vase is redundant on pieces from the excavations of Susa in Iran such as the MAO S. 506 and S. 223 jugs in the Louvre Museum collection. A tiny pottery vase, Iran or Near East, probably 8th - 10th century
