*BLASCO-IBAÑEZ (Vicente). Alfonso XIII unmasked. The militarist terror in Spain. Translated from the Spanish by Mr. Jean Louvre. Paris: Ernest Flammarion, [1924]. - In-12, brown jansenist morocco, spine ribbed, gilt lace framed inside, brown moiré silk lining and endpapers, double endpapers, cover and spine preserved, slipcase (F. Saulnier). First edition of the French translation of this political pamphlet by one of the greatest Spanish-speaking writers, criticizing the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera as well as the Spanish monarchy. No copies were made on large paper. A precious copy enriched with an autograph letter from the author in Spanish, addressed to Fernando Ortiz Echagüe (1892-1946), one of the most influential Spanish-American journalists of the first half of the 20th century, general representative of the Argentine newspaper "La Nacion en Europa". He lived in Paris between 1918 and 1940. The sending is written as follows: "To my friend and compañero // de letras // Fernando Ortiz Echagüe // afectuoso recuerdo // Vicento Blanco // Ibañez // Paris Noviembre 1924 " Very nice copy, from the library of Colonel Sicklès .
