[SPECTACLE]. Collection of more than 140... - Lot 179 - Ader
[SPECTACLE]. Collection of more than 140 programs and issues of theater and ballet magazines. Divided into several folders, these programs date mainly from the first half of the twentieth century, some are from the late nineteenth century and a dozen from the 1950's. Among these catalogs are those of the Joos ballets, the Léon Woizikowsky ballet, the Paris Opera, some are from the Comédie-Française, the Sarah Bernhardt Theatre, the Comédie des Champs-Élysées, the Pigalle Theatre, etc., one is the program for the Yvette Guilbert Jubilee in 1938 . Among the reviews are issues of Comœdia, Bravo, Le Théâtre, La Danse (on Swedish ballets), etc. There is a file on the theater "La Petite scène" created in 1911, and various documents (postcards, programs, autographs) concern the "Théâtre du peuple" in Bussang in the Vosges. This set was gathered by Percy Mitchell, drama critic for the Paris Daily Mail. There are a few notes in his hand, a few invitations addressed to him, as well as booklets, one of which is dedicated ("Les Joyeux devis d'un Souffleu de Bulles" by Jehan Sarrazin, 1900), etc. The copies of these catalogs and magazines are in used condition, sometimes with tears and soiling.
