TORRES GARCIA (Joaquín). Constructive universalism. Contrubucíon a la unificacíon del arte y la cultura de América. Buenos Aires: Editorial Poseidon, Colleccion Aristarco, [1944]. - Fort in-8, publisher's cloth boards. First edition of this important work of more than 1000 pages, offering 150 lessons or lectures on the theory of Constructive Universalism, given between 1934 and 1943 by one of its most emblematic representatives, the Uruguayan painter and sculptor Joaquín Torres García (1874-1949). The illustration includes 253 drawings reproduced in the text and 3 color plates. This copy is enriched with an autograph dedication by the artist on the back of the title, addressed to Teresa Plasenaga and dated July 12, 1944. Another dedication, quite curious, appears at the end, signed "L. A. Vasquez Praderes" and dated June 10, 1944 . Some scattered foxing.
