Old game called awele or mankala with four splayed feet, engraved decorations, and two lateral reserves on the same plane. The game of Hawele or awale, so called by the Baule, is almost unknown in the West but practiced in almost all of Africa. It is played by two players with forty-eight seeds (24 per player at the start) or nuts that must be seized according to precise rules.
