Voodoo stake sculpture surmounted by a beautiful... - Lot 85 - Ader
Voodoo stake sculpture surmounted by a beautiful stylized head, the eyes engraved in triangles, and a piece of leather tied with a cord all along its bust. Jacques Kerchache wrote about its legend: "The link is the important element, although we do not know exactly the purpose of the person who made it. Unused, these statuettes are wrapped and hidden; in operation, they are planted in the ground thanks to a small metal support, absent here." Fon, Benin Wood, leather, cord, cowrie shell, very beautiful and old patina of use.
