A clock with a lion of a different model was part of the sale in Paris at Europ Auction on 24 April 2013, lot 147. A mention of the inventory of the Duke of Richelieu in 1791, cited on the occasion of this sale describes: "(...) a small clock of the name of Belliard in its copper box surmounted by a vase, the circle of the dial surrounded and trimmed with a knot of Straz stones supported by a bronzed copper lion placed on a gilded copper pedestal trimmed with a circle also of Straz stones, valued at ninety-six livres." The drawing of this clock is preserved in the Livre de dessins de pendules (INHA, Paris) with the attribution to the bronzier François Vion probably as the owner of the model, its selling price was 268 livres and the description of the model also mentions a "cercle en brillants".
