Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985
)Suite de visages II. 1946.
Lithograph. 28 x 37,7 cm. Webel 92. Printed in colors.
Very nice proof on vellum, annotated in pencil "one of only two trial proofs", titled, signed and dated. Very rare. All margins. Framed.
This plate, of which only two trial proofs are known, including this one, is part of the artist's research to illustrate Michel Tapié's book, Mirobolus, Macadam et Cie. It is finally another subject, Suite de visages bronzés (Webel 98), which was retained.
