Special issue, the 250, of "Behind the mirror". "This special issue of Derrière le miroir was conceived and defined by Aimé Maeght in the fall of 1980. He envisaged its publication as a celebration in which artists and writers published since 1946 would be associated. He also chose François Chapon, president of the Reverdy Committee, to write the presentation. After his death on September 5, 1981, Derrière le miroir number 250 became a tribute to Aimé Maeght and his wife Marguerite Maeght, who had died four years earlier. Twenty-four artists agreed to produce an original graphic work for this issue, which includes the general table of all the issues as well as excerpts from the texts of 32 writers. It is illustrated with 55 photographs in black, 2 ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPHS by Alberto GIACOMETTI and Joan MIRÓ, and 4 lithographs in color after the models executed for the Foundation by Braque, Chagall, Ubac and Pierre Tal Coat. Slight wear to the covers and corners. Small and discreet stains on the first cover.
