SILBERMANN (Jean-Claude). - Lot 217
SILBERMANN (Jean-Claude). Le Ravisseur preceded by a memoir of a captain of cotton-armed. S.l. Eric Lodfeld, [1966]. - In-4, in sheets, publisher's orange cloth folder and case. First edition of this work composed and illustrated with 13 full-page compositions by the artist and poet Jean-Claude Silbermann (born in 1935). Precious copy, supposedly one of the 50 on luxury offset. It is the copy of Georges Brun who annotated the justification, bringing us precious bibliographical information. A first note indicates that these 50 copies were never made as is. He specifies that the drawings that were supposed to accompany 14 of these copies had disappeared at Losfeld before being used and that the hors texte engraving that was supposed to enrich this edition was never printed, adding that Silbermann had only two trial copies. EXAMPLE COMPRISING JUST ONE OF THESE TWO TRIAL COPIES OF THIS ENGRAVING, offered to M. Brun by the author in 1996, which he accompanied with an autograph letter signed: "Dear Georges Brun, herewith are the missing pages and, in a tired state, a working copy of a rebus engraving (the one intended for the "Ravisseur") which was never printed. " The engraving bears some handwritten indications and, in the lower margin, the resolution of the rebus: "pimbêche sodomisée par le Ravisseur ouaté." This engraving has some wetness and foxing. The copy also includes the publisher's folder and case. The folder has not been finished, without lining.
