Pierre LOUŸS (1870-1925). L.A.S. "Pierre", Paris, March 8, 1 - Lot 170
Pierre LOUŸS (1870-1925). L.A.S. "Pierre", Paris, March 8, 1885, ; 5 pages in-8 (slight foxing). Schooling at the Alsatian School. "We are all doing well here. Georges' toothache has almost disappeared. He told me yesterday when he received your letter that your foot swelled even more in the evening. It is very annoying to be nailed to your recliner for so long. [...] The moving in, or rather moving out, is almost entirely finished. There are only curtains to be put up in the living room and the dining room. George has bought a lot of things since you left, especially for his dining room: a buffet, a dresser, six chairs. He had his old green chairs in his room reupholstered, etc. etc. When you come back, and I hope you will soon, you will find the apartment transformed. I went Thursday with Jeanne and Rene to the Jardin des Plantes. I had a lot of fun there. .... On a separate sheet of paper, following his school results in Conduct, French, Latin, Greek, German, Geography and History composition, he gives explanations: "Well enough in Conduct to have been unable to stop myself from laughing in the middle of the class (muffled laughter, however) at what Naville was telling me. [...] 5 for a Latin theme done at home (A fable by La Fontaine to be translated into Latin, which is not easy)"... Etc. The 6th page is occupied by a letter from Georges Louis.
