Silvio PELLICO (1789-1854). L.A.S. Villanova... - Lot 184 - Ader
Silvio PELLICO (1789-1854). L.A.S. Villanova Solaro, July 10, 1831, to Piero Maroncelli; 1 page in-4, addressed to "Mademoiselle Joséphine Renardy, Abbaye aux Bois" (tear due to broken seal, edge a little frayed); in Italian. He sent his portrait to the lawyer Nari, at the Sardinian legation. Carlotta Gabri writes to him about him and his brother with great friendship. He hopes that his health will improve; with care he can live, but he cannot get better and become younger. He is in a villa, not far from his native town, and vegetates, writing poetry and reveling in sweet memories and sweet affections... He gives the address where to write to him in Turin at the Father Boglino. On the back, autograph manuscript signed by Piero Maroncelli (1795-1846): sonnet dedicated to the singer Laura Cinti-Damoreau, on the ultimate tune of L'Italienne à Alger (July 11, 1844).
