[NAPOLEON]. [HUGO (Abel)]. History of the Emperor Napoleon. Paris, Perrotin, 1833. 8 pages, 480 pp . Upper cover preserved. Work decorated with 31 vignettes by Charlet. First edition. Abel Hugo (1798-1855) was the brother of Victor Hugo. Numerous vignettes in the text by Charlet engraved on wood by Brévière, Lacoste, Godard... including a title vignette with the portrait of the emperor. Text printed in a double frame of black fillet, chronology at the end of each chapter. Faint foxing to a few leaves, leaves peeling off the spine. Followed by : LAS CASES (Emmanuel de). Expedition of Saint Helena. Translation of the remains of the emperor Napoleon. Order of the day of S.A.R. the prince of Joinville dated October 12, 1840. in French, handwritten on paper . 327 pp, brown ink, text inscribed in an ink frame. Facing the first page of the manuscript is attached a photocopy of the "facsimile" of page 356 of the autograph of 1865 presenting the handwriting of M. de Las Cases. Bound in full brown shagreened calf, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets and motifs, gilt title. Binding of the time, restorations, some spidering. Dimensions : 215 x 135 mm
