Incipit: "Ladies and Gentlemen, dear brothers and sisters in belief, Here we are gathered in a place that we owe to the kindness of our spiritualist brother, Mr. Vivien. We thank him for his kindness, which we will put to the test from time to time... - L.A.S., dated January 19, 1909, in-12, 4 pp. addressed to "My dear friend": "I thank you for your good letter and your kind wishes. Everyone carries his cross in this world, it only varies in shape and size according to the individual. My eyesight is getting weaker and weaker and I am now forced to dictate. I had to take someone to assist me. On the other hand I have made serious losses of money this year, which has prevented me from responding favorably to many requests for help. I am sending you ten francs for the Spiritualist Progress plus a package of my works, postage paid, to your home...". - L.A.S., dated May 5, 1909, in-12, 3 pp. addressed to "My dear friend": It would be very unfortunate if the Spiritualist Progress disappeared, because there is no publication that defends the pure Kardecist doctrines with more talent...".
