Note: This work is referenced under No. 157 in the Lerat archives [Jacqueline Lerat has always been interested in modern architecture . Jean and Jacqueline were subscribers to André Bloc's magazine "Arts et Architecture d'aujourd'hui" from the late 1940s until the magazine's demise. She used to say that she imagined some of her sculptures in one of these sleek houses opening onto the Pacific. In 1953, they met the architect Jacques Barge who commissioned them to create the 41 medallions that make up the Pantheon of 41 remarkable women at the Marguerite de Navarre high school in Bourges. At the end of the 1960s, the Lerats participated in the installation of a Virgin for Notre Dame du Rosaire during the reconstruction of Nantes. They met Christian Gimonet, a former director of the Le Corbusier Foundation and a great admirer of Japanese civilization. He designed their house and some of the furniture in the kitchen, the bathroom and their bedroom. They made various sculptures for his constructions. Jean's illness interrupted this cooperation].
