Henri ROCHEFORT (1830-1913). L.A.S, to Blanche... - Lot 170 - Ader
Henri ROCHEFORT (1830-1913). L.A.S, to Blanche [Frouart]; 3 pages in-3 on the letterhead of the newspaper L'Intransigeant (small split in the fold). He prefers not to read articles about himself. "Silence is the best answer to give to these funny men. After having honored them with a sword stroke, the only polemic to offer them is a volley of cane strokes. But any other discussion with them is a new food of scandal on which they jump with joy". In a postscript he adds that Chapu cannot make his bust: "There is only one man who would replace him admirably, and that is Rodin. Do you want me to talk to him?
