Le Prince Impérial" embossed in gilt on the first, gilt arms in the center of the second, spine with five ornate nerves, gilt edges with bee motifs, inner lace, lining and endpapers of red moire. (Binding of the period). Rare reading method conceived for the young Prince Imperial, Napoleon-Eugene-Louis-Jean-Joseph Bonaparte (1856-1879), only son of Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie, on the occasion of his second birthday. A method in forty lessons, printed on the front in large type, consonants, syllabaries, pronunciations and many progressive exercises with sentences related to the Prince's family, the men of the time and religion.
