A rare composite sculpture made up of a kneeling Edan-type piquet statuette, richly honored with various materials constituting a thick and important "load" as well as cowrie shell necklaces of ancient pearls covering it almost entirely and wearing around the neck a coiled necklace of snake vertebrae, the whole is linked by a chain that attaches it at the other end to a shell (cypraea). Yoruba, Nigeria Brass, various sacrificial materials, cotton, cowrie shells, glass beads, bone, shell, beautiful patina of use. H. 25 cm approximately for the statuette.
