"Eugène Delâtre is the son of the famous Auguste Delâtre, printer to the Impressionists. Eugène, an engraver and outstanding technician, drew on his father's experience to draw inspiration from Japanese woodcuts and renew the art of the original color print. A friend of Maufra and Beaufrère, he often worked in Brittany. He was an advisor and printer to many engravers of the period." (Cent ans d'estampes en Bretagne, Le Faouët, 1998, p. 21).
