Surroundings of Josse-Jean-François Leriche (1738-1812) - Lot 5
Surroundings of Josse-Jean-François Leriche (1738-1812) Chinoiserie after François Boucher (1703-1770) Patinated terra cotta H. 27 cm and terrace 34.5 x 13.5 cm Restorations This charming terracotta group was probably inspired by a work by the painter François Boucher, whom the Goncourt brothers described as "making China a province of rococo". These subjects and representations echo the exotic imaginary of which the public was so fond.
