"Excellent critical edition... based on that of Niort, 1596" (Tchémerzine), dedicated to Count d'Hoym. It was published by Lenglet-Dufrenoy, who signed the epistle under the name of Gordon de Percel. The illustration includes a title vignette drawn and engraved by Adolf Van Der Laan (1684-1755), an unsigned initials, six headbands, one engraved by Adolf Van Der Laan, and five by Pierre Hilloeul (1696-175.?), and a portrait of Clément Marot out of text, drawn and engraved by Guillaume-François-Laurent Debrie. Used rubbing, corners dulled. Damage to the head cover of the fourth volume, and lacking at one joint and at the second nerve of the same volume. Some foxing and slightly browned leaves.
