First separate edition illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of the author and 6 compositions, 4 of which hors texte, engraved by Boisson after compositions by Delort. One of 225 numbered copies on Marais wove paper, printed for the Conquet bookshop, this one including three states of the illustrations. A very fine copy. - DUMAS (Alexandre). Herminie. L'Amazone. Paris : Calmann Lévy, 1888. - In-8, jansenist havane morocco, ribbed spine, interior gilt lace, gilt edges on witnesses, cover preserved (Chambolle-Duru). First separate edition illustrated with a frontispiece and 14 engraved vignettes after drawings by Alcide Robaudi. One of 225 numbered copies on Marais wove paper, printed for the Conquet bookshop, this being one of 20 including two states of the illustrations. A very fine copy, despite the slightly faded spine. - MÉRIMÉE (Prosper). Carmen. Paris : Calmann Lévy, 1884. - In-8, dark blue half-maroquin with corners, ornate ribbed spine, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (Bretault). Illustrated first edition, with a frontispiece and 8 vignettes engraved by Nargeot after compositions by Arcos. One of 225 numbered copies on Marais wove paper, printed for the Conquet bookshop, this one including a suite of illustrations in avant la lettre condition. A very fine copy.
