Maurice Denis (1870-1943) - Lot 298

Maurice Denis (1870-1943) Autograph letter signed to a patron. 1892. On thin vellum folio. Small light brown spots. Stamp R. T. stamp on backing. "Sir, You have kindly shown an interest in the works of the young idealistic painters who exhibit each year at the Pavillon de la Ville de Paris. You know MM. Bonnard, Bernard, Ranson, and myself, among others. These young painters have had a few canvases accepted at the Exposition de St-Germain, which by this very fact is of quite a different interest from provincial exhibitions in general. Would you grant us the honor of your visit? Please accept, Sir, my best art sympathies and compliments. Maurice Denis St Germain August 8, 92.
