Havana morocco, boards decorated with an Art Nouveau frame composed of two wide straight and curved bands of brown and dark-brown morocco, ribbed spine decorated in the same spirit, large inner gilt roulette, white silk lining and endpapers decorated with colored flowers, gilt edges, cover and spine preserved in one piece, havana morocco spine folder, slipcase (Chambolle-Duru). First edition of 200 copies of this satire on French politicians and administration at the end of the 19th century. This is a remarkable edition, with the text in imitation of handwriting, accompanied by several hundred watercolors by HENRIOT, reproduced in color in the text. One of 175 copies on Marais wove paper, very well bound by Chambolle-Duru and complete with the beautiful illustrated cover, preserved here in one piece at the head. Spine slightly faded.
