MABILLE (Pierre). Le Miroir du merveilleux. Paris: Éditions de Minuit, [1962]. -In-8, 253x163: 327 pp, 5 plates, printed cover. Paperback. Second edition of this important essay for the understanding of Surrealism, first published in 1940. It includes an unpublished preface by André Breton. One of 118 copies reprinted on Johannot pur fil vellum, with 5 original color hors texte engravings by Max ERNST, Victor BRAUNER, Jacques HÉROLD, Wifredo LAM and Roberto MATTA. Each copy is signed by the artists at the justification. The etchings are unsigned. This copy is complete with the artists' signatures, but is not numbered. A very well preserved copy.
