Jean-Claude LAHUMIÈRE known as Jean D'IMBLEVAL (1929-2014) - Lot 65
Jean-Claude LAHUMIÈRE known as Jean D'IMBLEVAL (1929-2014)
Composition, 1987
Painted metal relief.
Signed and dated on the back.
(Misses and small accidents).
34 x 40 x 10 cm
Provenance :
Galerie Lahumière, Paris.
Founder of Galerie Lahumière, Jean d'Imbleval has built his work around the figure of the cube. "My thinking imposes silence on me, because the polysemy of words condemns their effectiveness in sectarian codes leading to enslavement. Cultural contingencies can scarcely be saved by amnesia, and the secularization of invention is the only way to overcome theoretical relentlessness." (Jean d'Imbleval, 1992)
