PAUL COLIN (1892-1985) - Lot 20
PAUL COLIN (1892-1985) Dahomey - Upper Volta - Niger Chromolithograph. Wrapped in cloth. Editions Diloutremer, Paris. Signed lower right. 76.5x62cm Bibliography: El espectáculo está en la calle. El cartel moderno francés. Colin, Carlu, Loupot, Cassandre, Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, 2001. Our poster reproduced on page 51, with a variation on the text. Unquestionably one of Colin's masterpieces: first, the idea of using the neck of a giraffe, which he fills with small vignettes evoking Africa; then ochre yellow and brown, warm colors that add to the strength of the message.
