PILOT MIYABI SET - Lot 317
PILOT MIYABI SET Exceptional set of three limited edition fountain pens, released in 1998 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Japanese Pilot brand. Miyabi can be translated as kindness. Three motifs are represented, corresponding to the ancient Japanese dynasty between the 8th and 12th centuries. The size of these pens corresponds to the Yukari Royal by Namiki, but with flat ends. They have no clips. The first is called Kai-Awase with eggshell inlay decoration. Made by master Yasunori Sakamoto. There are traces of micro-scratches on the cap, probably due to rubbing. It has been used. Made in 55 copies. The second is Bugaku, a dance movement. Made by master Kyusai Yoshida. Made in 70 copies. The third is Soushi-E, a picture book. Produced by master Masaru Hayashi. Made in 65 copies. Made on an ebonite base with intricate lacquer work. Fitted with a medium 18K (750) gold nib. Filled by cartridge or converter. Presented in their three black lacquered cases with a specific bottle of ink for Pilot's 80th anniversary (one bottle missing). The three leather cases are missing, as is the lid of one of the outer cases. The box without the ink bottle has an ink stain inside. The stationery and envelopes are present. It is very rare to find this set with all three pens with the same number. Lot described by André MORA.
