Édouard PIGNON (1905 - 1993) Officer - Costume design for Shéhérazade by Jules Supervielle, 1946 Gouache over pencil lines. Signed and titled lower right. Dated and captioned upper right. 31.5 x 23 cm This play was directed by Jean Vilar and presented at the Verger d'Urbain V at the second Festival d'Avignon on July 17, 21 and 23, 1948, then revived at the Théâtre Édouard-VII in Paris in September 1948.
