George SAND (1804-1876). L.A.S., Paris Monday [February 14, - Lot 145
George SAND (1804-1876). L.A.S., Paris Monday [February 14, 1870?, to Henri Martin]; 1page in-8 in her cipher. She asks her friend the historian to grant "a quarter of an hour's interview to my worthy and dear friend Doctor Paul Darchy. Give him some good advice. He'll tell you that I've been here, ill, for a fortnight. When I'm stronger, I hope to see you and talk with you"... She gives her address: "rue Gay-Lussac, 5". [Doctor Paul Darchy (1825-1894), a native of La Châtre, had written a verse Jeanne d'Arc; he also left a verse historical drama, Jeanne de Flandre; perhaps he wanted to submit them to the historian].
