Henry HOWARD Earl of EFFINGHAM (1806-1889). 2 autograph manuscripts, My Recollections, 1882-1884; 2 volumes small in-4 of 107 and 91 leaves plus added engravings and postcards, bound in red half-cornered morocco with crowned H on spine (I), and green with crown on spine (II) (Blackburn); in English. Illustrated memories of English castles. Numerous engravings, postcards and photographs are inserted between the manuscript pages. The full title is "My Recollections of Places where I have been and of Things which I have seen both at Home and Abroad". The 1st volume is devoted to Blenheim Palace, Kenilworth Castle and Warwick Castle; the 2nd to Arundel Castle and the Howard family. Attached is a L.S. from Robert Stewart, Viscount CASTLEREAGH, London February 6, 1819 (1p. and a half in-4 in French).
