Jacques-Charles DUPONT de l'Eure (1767-1855) politician, Pre - Lot 211
Jacques-Charles DUPONT de l'Eure (1767-1855) politician, President of the Provisional Government in 1848. L.A.S., Rouen April 24, 1817, to a friend; 4pages in-4. On the subject of a court case: "If Mr. Olry has the good law on his side, he can rest easy about the outcome of Mr. Roux-Laborie's intrigues"... As for himself, he likes to enjoy his friends, and the pleasure of fishing. He talks about the forthcoming elections; the ministers want to exclude him from the department of Eure, and are considering removing him as a magistrate: "I laugh with pity at the miserable means employed by our statesmen; I feel sorry for the public thing"...
