Gustave EIFFEL (1832-1923). L.A.S., Les Petites Dalles August 28, 1885, to M. Mulot; 1 1/2 pages in-8 on his letterhead G. Eiffel, Constructions Métalliques, Levallois-Perret near Paris. He thanks Mulot for informing him of the "Antwerp Award", and of the part he played in the successful completion of this diploma: he knows how hard he worked for it, and was very touched by his fond memories of their good relations. He was delighted to learn from the newspapers that "your candidacy for the Dieppe deputation has a great chance of success. I sincerely congratulate you and wish you every success"... Attached is a fine photographic portrait, cliché E. Pirou for Galerie Contemporaine (in-4).
