Silk square, Ottoman Empire, 20th century Pale blue silk square sewn with polychrome silk inserts and embroidered with metallic threads and yellow silk. The design features a large central rosette with a starry heart, a pseudo-tughra and the numerals 0125, framed by four poly-lobed spandrels and a plant frieze on the border, with a crescent moon on a green background at the corners. The square is edged with braid and lined on the reverse with cotton canvas. 126 x 122 cm Damaged braid.
