Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) - Lot 9
Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) La Fauvette beer, circa 1910 Mixed media. Mounted on canvas. Signed lower right. (Small tears, stains and rubbing). 145 x 96 cm Bibliography : Rennert, p. 60, no. 36. It was no doubt simply the lovely name of this beer, "La Fauvette", that gave Cappiello the idea of embodying them in two charming drinkers who, given the size of their mugs, are obviously very thirsty.
