Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) - Lot 43
Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) Olibet, 1933 Mixed media. Mounted on canvas. Signed lower right. 159 x 119 cm In a market still dominated by the English, Olibet loudly asserted its French nationality... That's why Cappiello chose a conquering Gallic rooster ridden by an all-white character juggling cookies. Surprisingly, this elaborate, high-quality graphic design never saw the light of day.
