Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) - Lot 47
Leonetto CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) Flertex, 1925 Mixed media. Mounted on canvas. Signed and dated lower right. (Misses. Tears on the edges consolidated by the canvas). 161 x 119 cm This project, dated 1925, heralds the more radical research to come (see Ca Bloc, lot 48). It's a "punch" poster, a visual that catches the eye, with no concern for realism: launched for some reason on a springboard, the automobile stops at the edge of the abyss. The message is simple, clear and unambiguous. A yellow and blue background, with waves in pure art-deco style, reinforces the dramatic effect.
