Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (1606-1669) The Watering Place of the Cow. About 1650. 130 x 102. Bartsch 237; New Hollstein 251. Very fine proof on thin watermarked laid paper in the early 18th century (DG countermark), with Watelet's retouching, weakened backgrounds (notably in the hill on the left and the cow on the right), before later retouching. Small pinhole in the tree on the left. Small margins [150 x 130].
