Red morocco, large piece of black shagreen inlaid in the center of the boards, surmounted by two bands of black morocco with cold diamond motifs, smooth spine decorated with bold gilt filets, the author's name and title in gilt lettering throughout on a piece of black morocco, double bold gilt fillet framing the inside, black silk lining and endpapers, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved, bordered slipcase (Jeanne P. Vinit). Edition of 250 copies on Rives wove paper, illustrated with 30 color etchings by painter Pierre BRISSAUD (1885-1964), including 4 hors texte and 26 in the text. One of 30 copies containing 3 states of the etchings. A very fine copy bound by Jeanne P. Vinit. Some spotting on the edges. Slight transfer of some plates.
