Black morocco, boards decorated with compartments in light relief at the center and edges, with a compass rose modeled at the center of the first board, smooth spine, black morocco framed inside, decorated with cold fillets, red silk lining and endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, black morocco spine and flap folder, lined slipcase (Creuzevault). Fine edition at 316 copies, illustrated with 93 original engravings by Albert DECARIS (1901-1988), 37 of them full-page. One of 216 copies on Hollande Van Gelder white laid paper. Finished in a beautiful binding by Creuzevault, it has been enriched with the publication prospectus and a very fine original drawing signed by the artist in wash in the format of the book, not reproduced in the edition. A perfectly preserved copy. Transfer of some engravings.
