A slightly modified version of Rubens' painting in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp.
Our painting appears to be inspired by the triptych "The Erection of the Cross", made in 1610 for the altarpiece of Saint Walburge and currently in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp. A slightly different version from 1609 is preserved in the Musée du Louvre, but it is a sketch.
