ÉMILE GALLÉ (1846-1904) - COLLECTION MADAME X. Sunsets (Le coucher de & Tournesols) - Star and Flowers A large baluster vase with a very wide annular neck in the Japanese style. Proof in multi-layered glass, the mother layer in brown smoked glass, the upper bowl in amber glass. The sunbeams, the evocation of the horizon, the petals and leaves of the flowers are acid-etched. The hearts of the flowers and the center of the sun (star) are represented by large cabochons hot-glued on a background of metallic spangles, one flower heart is engraved to evoke stamens, and another, also engraved, depicts leaf veins. The decoration is enriched by a large metal leaf burst in inclusion behind a flower. Signed GALLÉ, in double-line engraving on a background engraved with a flower. H.16cm - D.25cm
