Set Daniel Defoe: - Lot 15
Set Daniel Defoe: 2014 edition of the Ecrivains collection, paying tribute to the author of Robinson Crusoe: Daniel Defoe. Number 148 out of 1800 copies for the set (nib + ballpoint + lead). The edition is reminiscent of Robinson Crusoe's paddle, with which he tried in vain to leave his island on a raft. Inspired by the color and structure of wood, the resin of the veined brown fountain pen symbolizes Robinson Crusoe's life on the island, a life summed up in the simplest of things. Fine, delicate engravings, characteristic of the decorations that adorned book covers in the 18th century, decorate the cap ring and the end of the barrel. The clip, in the shape of a feather, refers to Crusoe's faithful companion, the Poll parrot, also depicted on the fine ruthenium-plated 18-carat gold nib. The filigree engravings on the rings recall the stitching on Robinson's clothes. The signature of his spiritual father Daniel Defoe is immortalized by an engraving on the side of the cap. Piston filling system. Quarter-turn ball exit mechanism, also for the mechanical pencil. In its book case with papers and white protective over-box.
