Agostino CIAMPELLI - Lot 7
Agostino CIAMPELLI
(Florence 1565 - Rome 1630)
Ecce Homo
Pen, brown ink, indigo wash and white gouache highlights, over black pencil lines.
(Drawing lined with paper, with some spotting).
20 x 15 cm
Our drawing is preparatory to the painting in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich (inv. no. 2335). There are several important differences, notably in Pilate's hands and the arrangement of the people on the right.
