14K (585) gold ring depicting a stylized flower set with emeralds, the heart in a rose-cut diamond, the sides enameled, the shoulder adorned with enameled flames. Work of the 18th century. Finger size: 56. Gross weight: 6.4g (chips, missing enamel)
An 18th century emerald and diamond ring
This ring is typical of the mid-17th century, with its emphasis on stones, the use of bichrome enamel here white point on a black background for the sides of the basket, and a shoulder engraved with enameled foliage. The stylized representation of a flower is also a distinctive feature of this period, marked by an interest in nature and the richness of its manifestations.
