Senior officers' saber 1855. Horn handle with filigree. Copper-plated brass mounting. Pommel monogrammed "PP". Guard with wide flared branch decorated with foliate scrolls. Fine, flat-backed blade engraved "Manufacture nationale d'armes de Châtellerault mars 1906" and stamped Barre, Paris. Nickel-plated sheet-iron scabbard with one strap. Length: 109 cm A.B.E.
