Officer's flintlock pistol. Round barrel with thunderbolts engraved with a radiating crescent. Flat-bodied lock and hammer engraved with scrolls, pan-grained with flange. Chased and line-decorated iron fittings. Anthropomorphic sun cap. Wooden stick with iron pastille. Length : 34 cm Circa 1730-1750. A.B.E. The decoration may refer to an attribution to the King's bodyguards.
