Snuffbox in polychrome enamel on copper with European decoration, Canton, China, 1770-1830 Of flattened oblong form, the bottom is enameled with blue foliage and each side decorated with an oval panel depicting a European. One is depicted wearing a pink cloak and blue stole, holding his hat in one hand. The other man, dressed in the same spirit, carries a basket filled with fruit and a peony. The collar and foot are outlined in pink. A stylized pink flower adorns the underside of the foot. Copper alloy stopper adorned with a shou sign. Height : 6 cm Restoration.
