Pol Bury (1922-2005) - Lot 230
Pol Bury (1922-2005) Balzac cupboard. 1973. Lithograph. Sight: 605 x 900, printed in color. Very fine proof on vellum, justified "H.C." and signed in pencil. Slight oxidation of the folio. Full margins. Final edition of 500 proofs. Maeght ed. frame (not examined out of frame). This original lithograph is part of a collection proposing that a writer and an artist work together, not on an illustrated book but on an image to be placarded. Artist Pol Bury chose to work on a text by Balzac, whose signature is lithographed here with the image.
