MANUFACTURE GILLOU circa 1836 Characters in Chinese costume, and an Indian. Set of eight original drawings, brown ink on paper. Some bear a faded signature and the date 1836. Variable dimensions: approx. 74 x 54 cm, but cut edges. Tears and accidents. Note: The GILLOU factory, founded around 1814, expanded considerably during the 19th century before being bought by Isidore Leroy in 1907.
